Water Care Quick-Start Guide
- Use the AquaChek® Spa test strips to verify that the water is in balance.
- The test strips provide six readings. Covered here is alkalinity, pH, and sanitizers levels.
- Test on a weekly basis or as needed to maintain balanced and healthy water.
- The balancing process of the alkalinity and pH can take up to 7 days.
- The hot tub can be used with unbalanced water if a total chlorine sanitizer level of 1.0 to 3.0 ppm is achieved.
- If balanced, go to step 3.
- If unbalanced, use Alkalinity UP and/or Down to adjust to the required level between 80-120 ppm (parts per million).
- Make adjustments in small amounts (1-3 tbs.). Skip step 3 and move forward to steps 4 and 5. Alkalinity needs to be balanced before balancing pH.
- After 24-hours, return to this step and retest. If balanced, move to step 3 only.

- If balanced, go to step 4.
- If unbalanced, use pH UP and/or Down to adjust the pH between 7.2 to 7.8.
- Make adjustments in small amounts (1-3 tbs.) and move forward to steps 4 and 5.
- After 24-hours, return to this step, retest and adjust if necessary.

- Clarifiers help the smaller particulates and organics get trapped in the filter.
- Use the Natural & Clear to help remove organics. Use Stain & Scale to remove metallic impurities.
- Add 1-2 ounces of Natural & Clear and Stain & Scale on a weekly basis.
- Use the Chlorinating Granules to adjust the chlorine level. There are alternative sanitizers.
- Make adjustments in 1-3 tbs. amounts.
- Maintain a total chlorine level between 1.0 to 3.0 ppm.
- This level is greatly affected by frequency of use.
